Lead Inspection
HK Environmental can test painted surfaces throughout your building using laboratory or x-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) analysis to determine if the paint does or does not contain lead in it.
Lead Air Monitoring
HK Environmental can monitor the air of your property and perform project oversite to help determine if there is a significant risk of exposure or contamination to lead dust before, during and after performing work.
Lead Risk Assessment
HK Environmental can help to identify hazards associated with lead in your building by testing dust, paint, consumer products such as everyday household items and foods, as well as in the air, soil and water on the property.
This can involve a detailed visual inspection of different surfaces and building components throughout the structure, evaluating the use, condition and potential risks associated with elevated levels of contamination, or laboratory analysis to determine lead concentrations.
Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) Sampling
A Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) is required for most demolition projects to record the levels of lead that could be left in the waste or debris.
Prior to disposal of contaminated construction materials, a sample of the waste stream is collected from the site and sent to an outside laboratory where they mimic the landfill conditions to determine how much lead could leach from the materials into ground water and surrounding environments.
